REMINDERS! You have two projects to upload to the College Board Portfolio Site: the Explore Task which is an artifact and a written response and the Create Task which is video showing your code run and a written response. Here is the large handout with the directions.
For the Explore Task you need:
Goal of the Task: Explore through research, then explain and represent the impact, function, and societal effects of a computing innovation.
What you Submit: (1) Computational Artifact (2) Written Responses to prompts 2a-e (with citations of sources for where you found the information).
How you get a good score: The AP committee wants to see that you can:
- identify a computing innovation
- demonstrate a basic understanding of how it works
- discuss the positive and negative effects this computing innovation on society
- cite those things with articles or other texts you found doing research.
Here is the Survival Guide with tips
For the Create Task you need
Goal of the Task: Create a programming project of your own design and then explain the purpose, process, algorithms and abstractions used to build it. You have 12 hours to complete this task.
What you Submit: (1) Video of running program (2) Written Responses to prompts 2a-d (3) PDF of program code
How you get a good score: The AP committee wants to see that you can:
- Design and write the code for a computer program with a topic of your choosing
- Describe how you identified and solved problems as you developed your program
- Write code for an algorithm and describe its purpose within your program
- Write code for an abstraction and describe its purpose within your program
